Brass Mug is a live music venue/bar located on Skipper Rd. in Tampa, Florida. Its original location was on Fletcher Ave.; it moved to Florida Ave. in 2012 and to 1450 Skipper Road in 2013. It is known for being a gritty, smokey bar where live music is hosted every weekend, as well as select weekday evenings, and has been called "the CBGB of Tampa."〔''St. Petersburg Times''. Raw bands savor Mug's offerings, 7 April 2000.〕 The venue has been in continuous operation since 1974 and has become a haven for live rock music, death metal and occasionally alternative groups.
